The LED is not measured in Watt but in Lumen!

LED Light Bulbs

Watt: term today entered the common language and assimilated in all minds as designating the power of a light bulb, an important criterion when buying a light bulb. Out, with the invasion of LEDs in our shelves and in our living rooms, today the power of a lamp is no longer measured in Watt ... but in Lumen!

A short tour of the Lumen

The choice of a lamp is guided by several criteria, aesthetic of course, but also technical, as the power of light emitted by the lamp is its luminous flux. This criterion is measured in the lumen and is represented by the symbol "lm" on of boxes bulb. Yesterday, powerful lighting was chosen in watt, today, the choice is on the luminous intensity which expresses in the lumen.

How to convert from Watts to Lumen?

To put it simply, one watt is about 10 lumens. It is therefore sufficient to multiply the number of watts of a bulb by 10 to find its corresponding power in the lumen. For example, to get the same light output as a classic 40w bulb, choose a 400lm LED or ECO bulb.
