Colors of Led Lights
Color temperature: rather warm white or cold white?
If there is information to consider in addition to the power and the base of the bulb, it is the color temperature, a number followed by the indication "K" on the packaging. This number is expressed in Kelvin and allows to know the color of the light of the bulb. So if you do not want to find yourself with a neo-futuristic atmosphere instead of a warm atmosphere, follow the guide!
Kelvin value: the color of the light perceived by our eye
The Kelvin measurement unit (K) measures the color of the light reflected by the light bulb we perceive. This color is more precisely called the color temperature and can be classified into three broad categories: warm white, neutral white and cold white.
The lower the color temperature, the warmer the bulb will be in yellow-orange tones. The higher the color temperature, the returned light will be in cool, bluish tones. Then, in the middle of the two extremes is the neutral white, a lighting color comparable to that of daylight. Precisely, the temperature of hot colors are between 2500 and 3300 Kelvin, the colors of the category "neutral white" is between 3300 and 5300 Kelvin and above this temperature range, like the cold colors.Warm white, neutral white, cold white: their specificities
Warm white: warm atmosphere guaranteed
The bulbs at low color temperatures, called "warm white", are often used to create a friendly atmosphere and relaxation in a living room or bedroom because of their orange light close to that of a sunset. They are indeed appreciated for their softness and their beauty.
Cold white: precision
The "cold white" lighting color is a light that tends slightly towards bluish tints. It is ideal for precision work or to highlight objects. It is generally used to light a cellar, a garage to see places of passage such as corridors or stairs.
Between the two, neutral white light is mainly used for clarity, so in a bathroom or kitchen for example.
Warm white, neutral white or cold white, the indication kelvin (K) is to be taken into account to perfectly adapt its lighting to its needs.
